Kory Northrop featured in Cascade magazine
An article on Kory Northrop and Derek Watkins’ award-winning data visualization projects appears in the latest issue of the UO College of Arts and Sciences’ alumni magazine, Cascade. Northrop’s work focuses on creating interactive ways to visualize correlations between transportation policy and bicycle commuting rates.

Kory Northrop graduated last spring with a Master’s of Science from the UO Environmental Studies Program. In 2011, he received the grand prize in the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Student Data Visualization Competition for his project “Bicycle Commuting Trends in the United States.” He is now interning with the City of Eugene Transportation Planning Department.
