The Undergraduate Program

The Environmental Studies Program offers a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) or a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Environmental Studies (ENVS) or Environmental Science (ESCI). A minor is offered in Environmental Studies.
The program curriculum is designed to provide a solid foundation in the sciences, social sciences and humanities; to build on these foundations in advanced coursework within and across a variety of disciplines; to develop the skills needed to study human-environment interactions; and to encourage practical learning experiences that can prepare students for active participation in the work force and in local and global communities.

Environmental Studies Major/Minor (ENVS)

The Environmental Studies degree focuses on social sciences, policy studies, and the humanities. It is designed for students who are interested in such areas as environmental planning, environmental philosophy, ecocriticism, ecofeminism, environmental justice, sustainable development, or social theory and the environment.

Environmental Science Major (ESCI)
The Environmental Science degree offers an interdisciplinary approach to the natural sciences, including biology, geology, chemistry, data analysis, and physical geography. It is designed for students who want to focus on scientific careers in fields such as pollution abatement; water resources; or ecosystem protection, restoration, and management.
