Please note: Only REMOTE internships may be counted for credit during Summer 2020, following University of Oregon social distancing regulations. If you are considering doing a not-for-credit in person internship, the ENVS Program encourages you to only do so if you are able to maintain recommended distancing/sanitization guidelines and follow local social distancing laws.

Position: Natural Resource Wildlife Steward  –**NEW**

Description: This person will assist with management of natural resources at the 13 reservoirs in the Willamette Valley Region, focusing on those closest to the Eugene, OR area. Major duties are related to monitoring and management of wildlife and wildlife habitat.

Position: Outreach and Education Steward  — **NEW**

Description: Two members will work with the Outreach and Education Specialist delivering environmental education programs for school children. The members will also work at various community events staffing the park’s exhibit booth and answering questions about Olympic National Park. Depending on the interests and abilities of the selected candidate there are opportunities to work on various projects – including website work, multi-media presentations, etc.

Description: The member will serve with the interpretive and education teams within the Visitor Services Division. The park anticipates over 100,000 visitors this summer including two youth camps.

Description: Trail-keepers of Oregon (TKO), in partnership with the USDA Forest Service (FS) and Oregon Parks and Recreation Department (OPRD), is recruiting three summer AmeriCorps members to provide restoration and maintenance assistance on hiking trails through volunteer engagement at three different sites in Oregon. We are seeking candidates interested in pursuing careers in public lands management and have a desire to work outdoors by engaging the public in trail stewardship experiences.

Position: Summer Farm Intern

Description: Intern will receive training and experience in composting, soil science and fertilization, shadehouse propagation, bed preparation and planting, irrigation, cultivation and weed management, pest management, harvesting, crop storage, orchard and berry management, beekeeping,  ewe and lamb care, management intensive grazing, livestock guardian animals, tractor usage, and business management.

Position: Wilderness Conservation Corps Intern

Position: Vegetation Management Steward

Location: Coos Bay
Compensation: A $4,422.54 living allowance dispersed on a monthly basis, a $2,215.00 education award upon completion of the 675 hours of service and/or position requirements. The living allowance and education award are taxable. Members are
responsible for food but housing will be provided upon request. Service eligibility is contingent upon the results of a
criminal and driving background check.
Description: Major duties include driving, surveying, data entry and weed control treatments. Driving will occur in town, along
highways, county roads and BLM roads (primarily gravel logging roads) in order to access BLM projects. Surveying
includes looking for noxious weeds and other invasive plants. See website for further details.

Position: Native Plant Nursery / Habitat Restoration Intern
