Sarah Jaquette Ray takes job at University of Alaska-Southeast. (Message from Sarah) I have officially accepted an offer for a tenure-track position as Assistant Professor of English at University of Alaska-Southeast in Juneau, starting in August. The position is expressly to help develop both the Composition Program and the BA Emphasis in Literature and Environment. I cannot describe how grateful I am to the ENVS program for all your support– financial, emotional, intellectual, spatial (I LOVE the 240 COL office), and of course, the friendship that got me to the place where I could even be a competitor in this terrible market. THANK YOU.
Janet Fiskio takes job at Oberlin College (Oberlin’s Environmental Studies program). Janet Fiskio will be joining the Environmental Studies faculty at Oberlin College in the Fall of 2009. Oberlin’s Environmental Studies Program was one of the first in the US, and it is one of the most distinguished in the world. The job that Janet applied for was rank-open, so Janet was chosen over senior scholars from around the country eager to be part of that excellent college and terrific program. The job description seemed almost designed for Janet, with its emphasis on interdisciplinary training and background in ethics and religious studies.
