Master’s student admitted to Oslo energy course
ENVS master’s student Sue Dockstader was admitted into the international summer school in Oslo, Norway to attend a six-week intensive class called «Energy, Environment and Sustainable Development.» Only 10-15% of graduate students who apply are accepted into the program.
In Oslo, Sue will be studying about alternative energies and development in the Global South. The course is designed to bring in agency experts, working professionals in the energy field, as well as academics. This course of study is a perfect complement to Sue’s thesis, «A Feminist Political Ecology of the Impacts of Large-Scale Agrofuel Production on Women in the Global South.» Her focus is on women living in rural areas working as subsistence farmers.
