ENVS grads win International Leadership Syndicate competition, head to China
Congratulations to the winning entry of the International Leadership Syndicate competition: “Healthy Home, Healthy Planet,” presented by ENVS graduate students Marissa Williams, Alayna Linde, Chithira Vijaykumar and Shane Hall.
Their project teaches students and rural citizens how to construct and use WAPIs (Water Pasteurization Indicators), along with an online campaign promoting environmental awareness through accessible curricula strongly connected to the needs of the local community. ” ‘Healthy Home, Healthy Planet’ utilizes pragmatic and creative ideas as catalysts for social change,” notes the President of the Chinese Philanthropic Leadership Association, Xuanyao Isabell Zhu. The CPLA President also notes, “Our Chinese partner — the Green Hunan — also noted the idea as ‘brilliant, flexible and easy for implementation’.”
The four first-year graduate students will head to China to implement their project this summer.
