Environmental Studies Major / Minor

Program Description

Environmental studies is a field of study that crosses the boundaries of traditional disciplines (including the sciences, social sciences, and humanities as well as management, policy, design, and law), challenging faculty and students to look at the relationship between humans and their environment from a new perspective.

Environmental Studies majors have considerable latitude in designing a course of study that combines theory and practice, that invites active involvement, and that fits their specific interests, needs, and aptitudes. The Environmental Studies major provides a well-rounded basic education to prepare students for entry-level positions in business, government, or non-governmental organizations.

Students should plan their programs as early as possible in their undergraduate careers with the aid of an environmental studies undergraduate adviser.

The program leading to the B.A. or B.S. in Environmental Studies.
