Celebrate Indigenous Solidarity Week with Robin Kimmerer

Environmental Studies is excited to be co-sponsoring both a presentation and a meet and greet with Robin Kimmerer, Distinguished Teaching Professor of Environmental Biology at the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry in Syracuse, New York, and the founding Director of the Center for Native Peoples and the Environment. She has recently published a book entitled Braiding Sweetgrass: Indigenous Wisdom, Scientific Knowledge and the Teachings of Plants.

Dr. Kimmerer’s beautiful writing portrays an appreciation of the small and unnoticed as well as a sense of place. She is known for her ethnobotanical insights and for bridging Traditional Ecological Knowledge and western science.
