| Most recent work:
My studies in this program were focused on cultural landscapes and art. My thesis work dealt with the conflicts and opportunities in managing agricultural heritage areas as recreational parks. I specifically looked at the way we conceptualize our relationships to certain landscapes and land uses, and how those expectations can get in the way of imagining other, more multi-faceted ways of interacting with nature, parks, and the places we live.
Currently, I have a Fulbright Fellowship to the European Union, studying EU agri-environmental policies, and the way they are playing out at the farm scale in the Netherlands and Ireland. In the past I have worked with local farmland preservation and food security organizations and hope to continue this work when I return to the US.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions about food, farming, environmental studies, the program at UO, Fulbright, or anything else!
